I originally thought that the Astros wouldn't trade Altuve this season. Then I got to thinking what if they packaged Norris and Altuve together? I would think that this could bring in a lot of talent. Some people might think it is a bad idea to trade Altuve at this time, but it could work out for the better. The Astros have a lot of options. They could put Elmore at 2nd or bring Paredes back and look at him there. They could even put Marwin Gonzalez at 2nd and bring Villar up to play short. They also have the other Martinez at AAA who has experience at 2nd.
So, it looks like the Astros have some options to cover an Altuve trade. The future at 2nd could be DeShields or even Fontana or the other kid that they have playing short and 2nd at Lancaster. The key is what they can get in trade. What teams are out there that would want a trade like this and what could the Astros get in return? Does this make sense? Could the Astros get a possible Godfather trade out of this? What do you guys think?
