Dallas Keuchel collected his fourth loss of the season but did so by pitching six innings and allowing three runs on nine hits and one walk. He also uncharacteristically struck out nine batters. All three runs that the Cubs scored came via solo home runs. In fact the Astros sole run came via a Trogdor (Chris Carter) home run.
Other notable contributors to the Astros cause include Jose Altuve who was 1-3 with a walk and Josh Fields who pitched a perfect seventh inning and collected one strikeout. His ERA current sits at 2.84, of course that's in five and a third innings pitched. Still we may start seeing him more regularly if he can continue to pitch this well.
And that was pretty much the game right there. Matt Garza pitched very well for the Cubs pitching all the way into the ninth inning. After a walk to Jose Altuve Garza was pulled for closer Kevin Gregg who notched his 11th save of the season.
Update: It was just pointed out to me that there was something else note worthy about the game, Marc Krauss pinch hit in the eighth and struck out. I was baby sitting two kids under the age of five while I watched the game, which is why I missed it, apologizes.
