Astros President and CEO Resigns

George Postolos has stepped down as president and CEO, leaving questions for Astros future.

The Astros announced today, team president and CEO George Postolos has resigned.

Postolos has held the position since November 2011, soon after Jim Crane was approved to purchase the Team. He was a key player as part of the group headed by Jim Crane to buy the team.

"I am very proud of what Jim accomplished with my help - acquiring a major league franchise with a strong and diverse ownership group, developing and implementing a good plan for the team's future, and assembling a first rate management team," said Postolos in the team statement. "I look forward to helping other investors pursue their objectives in sports knowing that Jim and the Astros organization are off to a great start and well positioned for future success."

Potolos has a long history in Houston sports; he previously worked as an executive with Rockets from 1998 to 2006. So after, he created the The Potolos Group, an advisory group specializing in sport and entertainment field.

Postolos' time with the team has been marked with change, with somewhat mixed results. Uniform and logo facelift has been widely applauded. The departures of Jim Deshaies and Larry Dierker have become a black eye for the Astros.

Postolos was the principle link between the Astros and Rockets to create CSN Houston. The network has been the talk of the town, as sixty percent of Houston homes are left blacked out. With Postolos gone, will this mark a new direction for the Astros and CSN Houston?
