Could a Castro Platoon solve the Astros 1st base Conundrum?

With rumors swirling regarding a need for a 1st baseman, I feel that the Astros would be much better off spending money elsewhere (the OBP God that is Shin-Soo Choo!!!!!). Jason Castro is an asset regardless of where he plays. He can hit as an above average 1st baseman, although as a catcher his value tends to be much higher. What he can't do is play behind the plate every night. On his days off, he doesn't need to be used as a DH. He could get the same rest for his knees over at 1st base, whilst platooning the most productive of our 1st base options until Jonathan Singleton has shown that he's ready to live up to his potential. This would allow the Astros to spend where they really need to, relief pitching and an all-star right-fielder!
