Houston adds three players

Finally, the Astros announced their additions to the 40-man roster. Three Rule 5 eligible players were added, but I'll let JJ Cooper from Baseball America take it from here:

Surprised that Jake Buchanan and Carlos Perez were left off? The 40-man now stands at 37 players, meaning Houston still has a little wiggle room for offseason additions. If we assume they'll take at least one player of their own in the Rule 5 draft, does that mean they plan on adding two free agents?

More likely, Houston still valued flexibility there, and keeping two extra spots open gives them the ability to target free agents or pick up players in trade if necessary.

Any other surprises here? Do you think Luis Cruz now has a shot at making the Astros out of spring training or is he still too far away?
