Early Correa Comparison

So, in trying to compare apples to apples, I went and dug up some stats on high school shortstops drafted in the first round on their 18 year seasons in A-ball (luckily those criteria narrowed down the field a lot).

Anyway, here is what I found:

OPS - Name ( Slash lines)

0.984 - Alex Rodriguez ( .319/.379/.605 )

0.872 - Carlos Correa ( .320/.405/.467 )

0.859 - Manny Machado ( .293/.343/.459 )

0.839 - B. J. Upton ( .302/.394/.445 )

0.757 - Justin Upton ( .263/.343/.413 )

0.707 - Francisco Lindor ( .257/.352/.355 )

Pretty rare company considering where he's at and holding his own is not bad in my book. Also remember that guys like Derek Jeter and Chipper Jones were playing in rookie ball at this age and putting up a lot worse numbers.
