I am done with the MLB(outside of Houston)

I believe there is a consensus among TCB'ers that ESPN, MLB Network, and any other major sports provider of baseball focuses on five or six teams(Which is fine they need ratings). However as fans we believe that writers know and appreciate the game. Writers and baseball is one of the greatest traditions in this country. To be a reporter covering the World Series in the 1950's was probably the most coveted job beside being a baseball player. While some writers, I believe do know and appreciate the game(Peter Gammons for instance), it has become clear to me today that a large portion of baseball writers are tainted. I am angry about Biggio not getting the nod, and tired of the disrespect shown to Bagwell.

Had Biggio or Baggs played for New York, Boston, Baltimore, San Fran, The Dodgers, or Angels. I would bet money they would both be in the hall today. However because Major League Baseball and especially Bud Selig treat Houston as the red headed step child of the league neither of these outstanding players are in the hall today.

It is absurd that after 60 years in the NL were forced to move to the AL, when Bud Selig's old team, the Brewers, were recently moved from the AL to NL, why not move them back. Why destroy the heritage of baseball in Houston. Or how about not allowing the Astros to decide if the roof should be open or not during home playoff games. Let's not forget that the League made the Astros play a pivotal game(in regards to our playoff hopes) on the road, even though it was a home game. While it is clear that Selig wipes his rear with the left over tickets from Astros games(he smiles about it because he will never have to buy toilet paper again) today made it clear that some baseball writers dont care about baseball, they care about glamour.

If you only look at Biggio and Bagwell's numbers, forget their team or anything else, they are hall of famers, on I would have to think 95% of ballots. But because they are Astros we are lucky to get 68% on a guy who had 3000 hits.

I apologize if this seemed like a rant, but its not a rant. Its a realization. I have realized that the league and a large portions of writes in this league dont care about baseball. They care about money and fame. The league and the writes penalize players for using PED's, hell they penalize players for being strong and big(Bagwell), because they believe these players tainted the game. But I now know that the league and some of the writes have tainted the league more than the players ever did.

I will always love the Astros, but I will not respect the league until changes are made.
