What's up CRAWFISH BOXES readers? Is the TCB COMMUNITY ready for some minor league action? That's what I thought! I want to thank everyone for participated in last night's MiLB game thread and to ccislanders for posting it.

David gave a great rundown of some of the big things going on with with Astros minor leagues yesterday in his Three Astros Things. If you like minor leagues, you need to read it because every point has a direct relation. It's great to see the Astros have re-upped with Tri-City as it's a great organization in a competitive league. Another plus is that they have media department that is very sabermetrically inclined and they run a blog that uses advanced metrics to look at the club. Jeff Luhnow is going to continue to build this club the right way. And, the last point, while the Astros system received some love with five top 100 prospects, the top 20 list for the organization is poorly constructed, in my opinion.

Now, speaking of Tri-City, they get their playoffs going tonight! Aaron West is on the bump so take some time and listen to Evan Vallenti call the game on the ValleyCats website.

Corpus unfortunately lost last night and are now down 0-2 and facing elimination tonight at home. One of the big stories is Keith Bodie's decision to pull Rob Rasmussen after seven innings. He was at 93 pitches and this is playoff baseball. He could have gone another inning, but despite pitching scoreless baseball, he seemed to be struggling. He battled well, but he wasn't having his best game. Plus, you factor in that the comination of Kevin Chapman in the 8th and Jason Stoffel in the 9th has been money all season long. I think it was the right decision. But, hats off to Frisco as they have won the first two games on walk-off hits. This is a team with plenty of talent and I expect that they'll rally around Ross Seaton tonight.

Lancaster did the opposite and won! It was an elimination game for them and they now stand 1-1 for the last game of the series and Jeff Luhnow will be in attendance. Is anyone surprised that Nicholas Tropeano pitched a great game? I'm not. He took the mound and pitched like he knew he could. The big story came from Erik Castro who battled in the bottom of the eighth by fouling off several pitches before cranking his second double and driving in Jiovanni Mier and Domingo Santana to break the tie and put the JetHawks up 3-1. Two batters later, Jonathan Meyer launched a home run to cushion the lead to 5-1. Remember that Meyer hit two home runs in the last game of the season, so his power is coming around at the right time. Tonight, David Martinez who has been the steadiest pitcher for the team this year takes the mound in Lancaster.
