The Corpus Christi Hooks can clinch their first playoff birth since 2006, so this is an exciting night! The Hooks' magic number is two, and they're facing the San Antonio Missions, the team in 2nd place(playoff count wise). I'm excited, and I hope y'all are, too!
The pitchers on the bump tonight are:
Oklahoma City: Brett Oberholtzer- 6 .2IP, 7 hits, 2 runs(both earned), 2 BB, 7 k's - 57 GS
Corpus Christi: Paul Clemens- 6 IP, 3 hits, 1 runs(1 earned), 2 BB, 5 K - 73 GS(I think)
Lancaster: Tyson Perez- 2 IP, 2 hits, 0 runs, 1 BB, 2 k's
Lexington: David Rollins- 7.2 IP, 3 hits, 0 runs, 0 BB, 10 k's(DOMINATION!!!) - 83 GS!
Tri-City: Joe Bircher- 5 IP, 2 hits, 2 runs(0 earned), 3 BB, 4 K's - 54 GS
Greeneville: Lance McCullers Jr.(yipee)- 4 IP, 3 hits, 5 runs(3 earned), 3 BB, 6 K's(defense let him down on a 3rd out, which costed him 2 runs), 1 HR(2 run homer) - GS 41
CC Hooks game: They led 2-0 on a Gobbert 2 run homer and Andy Simunic single; Now 3-0, Kike Hernandez doubled and was brought home by a Ben Orloff bloop singe; Now 4-0 after a wild pitch and over-throw to third, Orloff scored; 4-1 after a single; 4-2(not sure what happened); 5-2 after Austin Wates homer. Paul Clemens as high as 94, so far. I can feel the magic. Hooks won 5-2! I'm happy. Y'all should buy tickets for the playoffs.
Nothing too crazy to speak about. Jacob Goebbert continues to destroy AA pitching, but not AAA. Carlos Correa has hit a double. Heineman struck out. Kike Hernandez is awesome. Jimmy Paredes has gone 2-3. Preston Tucker hit a grand slam, too!!!(thank you, Lawson). Austin Wates home-run!! Stoffel even got a hit.
