With the news that Roger Clemens will pitch for the Sugarland Skeeters this Saturday night, there's only 1 logical conclusion to be drawn.....he wants to pitch in MLB next year. Of course, it could all be just for fun, but that's not really Roger's personality is it?
As we all know, Roger's son Kacy will be a senior at Memorial next year. I suspect Roger's motivation may be to clean up his reputation in anticipation of his HOF nomination. If he can truly still pitch at the major league level next year, it would indeed enhance his chances of making it to the HOF. Of course, it would delay his entry into the HOF for 5 years, that's the only downside.
Clearly, if Roger wants to pitch next year, (and assuming he still can pitch effectively), the logical place is here. The fans would be supportive, the oration certainly has room, and the attendance would be boosted. So, TCB'ers, do you want to see Roger Clemens in an Astros uni next spring? Or is that just a publicity stunt that would take the spot of a youngster such as Lyles or Weiland?
