Anyway, as I force myself to look over the abomination known as our roster, I realize there is one person/group of people that I do not envy one bit. Whoever is in charge of making the annual calendar has their work cut out for them. Though things already seem stretched to the limit in 2012 (I am currently looking at Mr. August, Bill Hall) it can only get worse from here. Unless...What if, instead of a calendar highlighting our ineptitude at the major league level (our major ineptitude?), we showcase the only bright spot of the organization, the farm? What if the 2013 edition was just a Top 10 prospect list (with a bias towards closeness to the bigs to cater to the casual fans who DEMAND ACTION NOW!!), with Tuve and Lowrie in June/July? Actually, better designate Jed as Mr. February, don't know if he could handle a full thirty days with his injury history... January: Springer February: Lowrie March: Singleton April: Cosart May: Barnes June: Altuve July: Grossman August: Villar September: Fontana October: Dominguez November: DDJ December: Santana I realize the last couple aren't exactly September call-up material, even next year, but this is much better than another year of Lee, CJ, and a bunch of relief pitchers, no?
Although speaking of pitchers, there's only one (Cosart). Yikes! That means there is no real help on the way for that side of the ball, and um, we could kind of use a little.
"Three stud FA starting pitchers and an entire bullpen, make it happen, Luhnow!"
/not actually advocating that. And I guess we do have some help (Cisnero, Stoeffel, Zeid, among others)
