In which I ponder Chris Johnson's revival

Stay connected for news and updates

As we at TCB all know, Chris Johnson was a leading candidate to be traded, and one that we supported being flipped for more prospects. Since the trade to Arizona, he has gone semi nuts, hitting 3 hrs and driving in 7 steaks. My question to you, the loyal TCB'ers is this:

Do you think that for some younger players, playing on a losing team (one that is losing in unprecedented numbers), can take the heart and the drive out of them? If this is true (and my heart tells me it is), what does this say about what is going to happen to all our young prospects when they make the Big Show, and lose 2 out of every three games, maybe for years? Will it hurt the development of those youngsters? And isn't this the best argument that Crane needs to authorize the obtaining of a half dozen veteran free agents in the off season, so that we are not historically bad, AND, so there are role models of (some) success on the big league roster? If some positive moves in this regard are not made, perhaps some of our youngsters won't reach their true potential here?
