The Chronicle site is indulging in a lot of speculation about the fate of Brad Mills, with the prevailing opinion appearing to be that he will definitely not be retained, perhaps not even through the end of this season.
I think the posters on this site are more fair-minded than those on other sites, so I thought I'd ask what others think about Mills and the job he's done with so few resources.
My own opinion: It may not be fair, but I think it was a foregone conclusion that Mills wouldn't be around long once Ed Wade was shown the door. It only stands to reason that Jeff Luhnow would want his own man as manager.
Is Joe Pettini the heir-apparent? Is that why Al Pedrique was fired and Pettini put in his place? Or do you think Luhnow has some other trick up his sleeve?
Most reasonable people would not expect Mills to have a winning record with the mess he inherited. But what IS it reasonable to expect from Mills, and has he provided it?
