Cordero (5.77) and B. Francisco (.285 wOBA in 54 PA) are veteran Major Leaguers. I'm being told by one of the Blubird Banter writers that the Astros received some good prospects in Wojciechowski, Musgrove and Perez with a special mention of Perez.
I don't expect the Astros to keep Cordero or Francisco past this year. It seems that both were players that the Blue Jays were looking to get off their roster.
My initial reaction is that the Astros bullpen has been further weakened with the departure of Lyon who had a 3.28 FIP in 36 innings for the Astros this season. If we're lucky a change of scenery, and maybe Mike Fast, will do Cordero some good and ease the loss of Lyon.
