Jose Altuve and his swinging strike.

Not worth a full post, but I noticed something fun tonight while trolling around on Joe Lefkowitz's Pitch F/X Tool page.

As of April 15, 2012 (Two weeks of baseball), there have been 3,281 swinging strikes.

Of those 3,281 swinging strikes, one of those was by Jose Altuve.

Jose Altuve is one of sixty three major leaguers to have only had one swinging strike this season.

Jose Altuve is one of twelve non-pitchers to have only one swinging strike this season.

Jose Altuve is one of three players with more than sixteen plate appearances to have only one swinging strike this season. The other two are Denard Span and Jon Jay, two guys who have eerily similar tools to Altuve

Jose Altuve's one swinging strike was against Brandon Beachy on an 82 mph slider with a huge break that left it well below the zone. The at-bat resolved with Altuve reaching on a fielding error.

I just think that's cool.
