Rumor Control Regarding Brandon Culbreth's Eye Surgery

http://grandoldgame.blogspot.com/2012/02/rumor-control-on-culbreths-eye-surgery.html

Just got off the phone with his mother, so I'd say that's a reliable source. Mention surgery and the worst is usually anticipated, but the best part of it is that this procedure shouldn't cause him to miss any playing time, and he should be none the worse for wear afterwards. Visit this SB Nation blog or The Grand Old Game for follow-up details.

Interesting, hadn’t heard about this. Thanks for the info….now we gotta work on getting your name changed lol.

One little side note, when talking about medical stuff, the use of the term benign is reserved for description of tumors and not description of harmless to avoid confusion. At least thats how my allied health professors recommend it to be used.

Gotcha. Benign just seemed like it got the point across, though. But point taken :) I have around 17 years medical experience, and had never even thought of it that way, so we learn every day. Which is a good thing.

As for the name, I actually tried to change it, but can’t figure it out. Ideas?

Yeah it made sense to me, but that something one of my profs stresses for us as physical therapists to avoid anything that has the connotation of being involved with cancer. It may be just a pet peeve of his.

Idk if there is a way to change, might have to contact SBN to see if there is a way.

Thanks for the head’s-up. I’m on it.

I’ve survived minor skin cancer (minor, very minor if it can be called that) and I agree with your professor. It took me ten tries to get the doctor to tell me straight up if I should be actually worried or not. It’s really scary when you’re being told you have a medical problem and the doctor doesn’t think he needs to be clear about the severity. My doctor who did the original diagnosis rattled off some latin crap to me, then seemed offended when I asked what that meant, as if I didn’t trust her. I now have a new doctor.

good reason to get a new doctor.

Physical Therapy, huh? I’ve got a lot of respect for that field. I’m in nursing school right now, but I’d like to get into behavioral neuroscience or sports psychology, someday. And your prof is right, especially when it comes to putting it out there on a post. I think I should change that word in mine.
