I like the idea behind the “non prospect prospect list” at What the Heck, Bobby? That’s more interesting than seeing the same old top prospect list.
I like it too, but really wish the guy didn’t evaluate player’s defense based on errors, and offense based on BA with RISP. I would like to see information that I can’t get just by pulling up a guy’s baseball reference page.

Wallace Gonzalez
Juan Santana
Matt Duffy
Teoscar Hernandez
all sound like they could have a good future in our system.
Jason Lane
Good for him. He batted right and threw left if I remember correctly.
Astros' amateur budget
Postolos is quoted in chron.com:
"We’re going to be the biggest spender in baseball on young talent," said the man who has a lot to do with that, Astros CEO George Postolos. "Some of that has to do with the collective bargaining agreement (with teams with high draft picks getting more money to spend in addition to the shifting Latin American rules), and some of that has to do with the philosophy of our organization.
"We’ve built our budgets on spending as much money as we can internationally and in the amateur draft so that we become the organization that gets the best young talent in baseball."

Wow. That feels great to hear.
Such a polar opposite from Drayton’s tomfoolery. I love it.
I wonder if this signifies we’re going hard after Soler?

It seems like it could be. If the Astros got Soler it would take a little pressure off of signing a bat with the first overall pick (if there are multiple players that could be deemed BPA.

Victor Roache could miss the rest of the year.
He broke his wrist trying to make a play in the outfield. http://www.baseballamerica.com/blog/draft/2012/02/victor-roache-suffers-broken-wrist/
Could he make his way to the supplemental round. Even if he did, the new draft rules might make it impossible to sign him.
The Astros may very well of selected Jackie Bradley Jr. with the 10th overall pick last year had he not broken his wrist. The Red Sox ended up getting him as a supplemental round pick.

Mission Kissimmee on The Grand Old Game, TCB
I’m hitting Kissimmee today after a few hours of sleep and another 400 miles of road, and plan on sharing a great deal of my photos and interviews here and on my site (of course). I hope you dig it as much as I’m sure I will.
