MLBTR posted that The Tigers have released Ryan Raburn, I believe he could be receiving a call from Mr. Luhnow. Rayburn can play all three OF positions, 2B, and 3B. In around 1700 PA he has an avg of .256 and on OBP of .311. his best year was probably 2009, which was followed by solid years in 2010, and 2011.However he only hit .171 last year and only had 222 PA, compared to about 400 PA each of the previous 2 years.
In 2009 Rayburn hit 16 HR and drove in 45. Hit .291 and had on OPB of .359. 26BB 60 SOs(291PA's). His biggest problem is his ability to strike out, however he could be another Matt Downs type for this club. His salary last year was 2.1 mil, after a bad season last year and being release we could probably get him somewhere between 600K and 1 mill. He is only 31 and was a 5th rounder in 2001.
When he has had consistent playing time he has shown that he can play, I believe he would be a great pick up for the club. Good veteran presence that could start for us, but his versatility would also make him a viable option for a utility role.
