According to Patrick Newman of NPB Tracker (via MLB Rumors), Luhnow and the Astros have had "internal discussions" about Hideki Matsui. Well, Matsui may not have much left in the tank, but he's a solid citizen and he'd be a good guy to have around. And coincidentally, I once traded for him for my Strat-o-Matic Astros, and he did well. Yeah, I know that doesn't mean anything in the real world, but there it is anyway ...
I've always felt that it's a good thing to have at least one player from the Asian market on your team because it might make it more attractive as a destination for younger athletes from the Pacific rim, and Hideki Matsui's once iconic status might help us in that regard. Any thoughts?
