I'm already starting to think about that number one pick in the 2013 draft. I had to give up my Baseball America subscription because it costs too much, but was still able to find a top-prospects list. This kid, Austin Meadows, has a real sweet swing. I trust Luhnow & Co. to get it right, but this guy is certainly intriguing.

I've also read that Mark Appel is again considered the top prospect in this draft class. He'll have less leverage this time around, but for my money, no thanks. Certainly we need top-level pitching prospects in this organization, but I still don't think a college guy who's close to being big-league ready is the way to go, and I didn't like how things transpired with him last year, so I wouldn't mind passing on him again.
