I really like that draft picks are forced to sign earlier and I think it should really speed up their development. Do you think it is reasonable to expect that by the end of 2015, any player who is going to be a significant piece of the future who is already in the system, will be up with the big league team? Correa, Ruiz and the rest? I know that they will still be young, but if they are the badasses they were drafted and paid like, I think it is reasonable by then that they be up. With that in mind, here is what my 2015 end of season starting lineup would look like, if no free agents were to be signed. I would, however, like to add a free agent outfielder and starter of significance.
C: Castro
1b: Singleton
2b: Altuve
3b: Ruiz
SS: Correa
Of: Springer
Of: DeShields
Of: Santana
DH: Wallace
Rotation: Manaea, Cosart, McCullers, Folty, Tropeano.
Again, I think their is a significant hole in the outfield, and shifting DeShields back only partially solves that. Also, I would hope to have a better dh than Wallace/Maxwell. Probably overly optimistic to think all 5 of those pitchers become legit starters, but I am all in (pending results of his next season) on Manaea.
