Sure, it's an extremely small dose, but there's a little something to be excited about in Houston. Losing Bourn and Pence is tough for any Astros fan; however, the organization received some very good prospects in return. I wouldn't say great prospects, but there is definitely some talent in the farm. It is also fun to watch the young guys play at the Major League level. As a bit of a geek of the game, I enjoy comparing swings, seeing hustle, etc and watching guys that I have not seen before gives me something to cheer about again. And maybe it's just me, but the fans in the stands respond to good play no matter who's name is on the back of the jersey. A couple of the guys playing up before their time will grown in to household names.I am also happy for Bourn and Pence. By the time Houston has a legitimate contender Pence and Bourn will probably be past their prime (s), so I am glad they aren't wasting away in Astroland. Not that Bagwell or Biggio wasted away, but it wasn't until they were at the end of their careers that Houston made it to the World Series. So, while it may get worse before it gets better, I would much rather see some young guns with energy, some swagger, and hustle play night in and night out than I would Carlos Lee.
