I much prefer to write long articles than two-line blog posts.  But this was too good to pass up:

Springer threatening to sign with an Independent League team because the Astros aren't close to signing him.  This won't happen, of course, but the fact that his camp is saying so this far away from the deadline paints a pretty sad picture about the way the Astros are handling the deal.

It's just a negotiation tactic for sure, but this is not something a downtrodden Astros fan wants to read.
