Fan Vote: Astros' Top CF Prospect

Updates on other polls: Nash and Altuve won at 1B and 2B, Villar leads Mier 50 to 27 at SS, and Paredes leads Kvasnicka 40 to 7 at 3B.

Center field is another position that is not very strong for the Astros' minor league system. Here are some possible options:

Austin Wates (22): he wasn't originally a centerfielder, but the Astros are trying him out some there. At offense-friendly high A Lancaster, Wates has 5 HR, 16 SB, a .785 OPS, and 2 errors.

Jay Austin (20): he is still young, though a recent demotion to Lexington is an indicator of his lack of progress. At Lancaster he had 3 HR, 17 SB, a .683 OPS, and 4 errors. At Lexington so far he has 0 HR, 2 SB, a .683 OPS, and 2 errors.

Daniel Adamson (23): he is old for his level and has been injured for over a month this season, but his numbers are pretty good: 3 HR, 1 SB, .906 OPS, 2 errors at Lexington, after a good half season at Tri-City last year.

Justin Gominsky (21): At Tri-City, this 2011 11th round draft pick has 0 HR, 7 SB, and a .621 OPS to accompany a solid defensive reputation (0 errors).

Javaris Reynolds (18): 2011 7th round pick has struggled some offensively for the GCL Astros - 0 HR, 7 SB, .545 OPS. He also has 2 errors. He does show some patience at the plate (12 walks so far), and has time on his side.

Others - Luis Durango (25) and Jon Gaston (24) are some of our CF guys at the higher levels. Slim pickings at this position for our system, I'm afraid.

Voting runs through Wednesday evening, 10 PM central time. Vote after the jump.
