I've heard all this talk about our recent draft pick, George Springer, maybe replacing Michael Bourne or Hunter Pence in the outfield, but why? If I'm the Astros I want to keep 2 of my best players in Bourne and Pence because they are young and very talented, no matter how valueable they are. Wouldn't it make since that Springer would replace Carlos Lee? I think he might be on his last year or 2 of his contract and that would leave a hole in LF.
Other than Springer, why didn't the Astros draft one of the college pitchers that fell to them at #11, especially a projected top 10 pick in Jed Bradley. I brought his name up on this site a few times and I was told that he wouldn't make it out of the top 10. I thought that it would have been logical to pick the player that fell that much. It just seems that we are thin on pitching and another talented guy would have been a good choice for the draft. I won't give up though, maybe the Astros will trade for him or he will go back to Georgia Tech!!!
