According to Fox Sports' Rosenthal, the SF Giants will sign Bill Hall to fill their 2d base position. Starter Freddy Sanchez suffered a dislocated shoulder and the back up, Fontenot, has a muscle pull. Rosenthal states: "The Orioles and Nationals earlier had expressed interest in Hall, sources said. The Giants will pay less than $300,000 of the remaining portion of Hall’s $3 million salary, with the Astros paying the rest." Is it possible that the Astros could have traded Hall for something in return if they had waited for an injury on another team to create an opening?
