Jordan Lyles Called Up, Wandy To DL
Wow. I guess those high pitch counts were too much for Wandy's elbow, but Jordan Lyles will make his major league debut on Tuesday against the Chicago Cubs (h/t to Astros County).

I really don't like this move.
There is nothing to gain by bring up Lyles in a lost year. I’d have rather had him continue to gain experience in AAA and bring up a stop-gap like Figueroa. What’s done is done, though, and I hope Lyles acquits himself well here in the majors.

I really hope it is not too soon
I know there are ton of people super pumped about this and dont gey me wrong I am too but I hope he is ready. He is comming off a few really good starts so lets hope it transitions.
Also
If they are bringing Lyles up dont you think they should shake things up from top to bottom in the farm system. Lets make this our mid year,
These are my same feelings.

I was excited cuz I just paid $6 to get MILB.TV to watch Lyles pitch in his next start...
Looks like I’ll just have to turn it to FS-Houston…
Do not like this move, but if they are going to start this why not do like Nado said and have an early season shakeup in the minors.
BTW anyone know why there are never any hooks games on MILB.tv

I am excited
Do I think he’s ready? I think he’ll handle it okay. But I also wanted him to keep playing in triple A so when he does get called up, he’ll be 100% ready. But they called him up now. I want to see him pitch so, it will be exciting to see what he can do.
A rose with no fragrance is like a baseball player with no average. *cough* Joe Inglett...
Gustavo Chacin is starting tonight.
So I think he is taking Lyles’ spot in the rotation.

Chacin and Arguello switched spots. I think Figgy took Villar’s spot.

Wow
I just pulled up TCB to read some more of Timmy’s Saturday’s links and did not expect to see this. I don’t really know what to say. I only read the headline and immediately checked the Astros website to see if he was pitching in Houston so I could by tickets, but that’s not the case. If he stays with the big league club throughout Wandy’s DL stint then he will make his home debut against the Braves I believe, and I would be there. I am definitely excited to get to watch him, but really wished they would have gave him this year in the minors. Like want others have said what’s done is done so now I will hope for the best.
As far as the minors shakeup comments go, I was originally against that type of thinking, but now I’m not for sure. What purpose does Figgy and The Hyphen serve if there not called up in this situation. They are depth in case of injury to keep from burning a prospect. If your not going to use them in that capacity then what purpose do they serve. I guess they are for emergency only now.

Yeah he did. Q went on the disabled list. Wonder if they will pair Cancel and Lyles together since their is some familiarity there.
