Around SBN: Devils Beat Rangers, Head To Stanley Cup Finals

Come on Astros fans, do your part.

Please go to http://www.change.org/petitions/saveourstrosorg and sign the petition in regards the Houston Astros moving to the AL West. As a Rangers and Astros fan, this would be a huge conflict of interest and is just wrong. MLB is taking advantage of one of its franchises by taking advantage of the Astros ownership change. Houston needs to stay in the NL where they belong. BOTH fan bases (Rangers and Astros) stand to lose fans if such a move happens. Thanks

Baseball fans in Texas

Baseball fans in Texas root for their Texas teams. When the Astros were in the World Series in 2005, plenty of Ranger fans wanted to see the Astros win. The last two years with the Rangers in the World Series, many Astros fans were rooting just as hard as Ranger fans. I asked a co-worker earlier, How many Rangers fans are also Astros fans and how many Astros fans are also Rangers fans. He responded, “all of them.” At least I would say a lot of them. With the Rangers and Astros in different leagues, they never really “directly” competed with each other. I grew up watching both teams and being a huge fan of both teams. I lean heavily toward Texas now for good reason but I am still very much an Astros fan. It is a different attitude here in Texas. Texans have pride in their state.

Same goes for other pro sports. I’m a huge Mavericks fan and the Mavs are my #1 overall team. If San Antonio or Houston were to be really good and contend for the Championship, if the Mavs were out of it, I would equally cheer for either team. Same for Cowboys and Texans. Cowboys #1 overall.

Actually thats not correct. Ive never cared about the Rangers or Mavs. I used to pay a tiny bit of attention

to the Rockets. the Spurs are my team NBA team but Ive had it with the 7’ over paid crybaby thugs in the NBA. I was living in Houston when the Texans entered the NFL and being in the city of my birth I follow them but not passionately. So mainly I follow care only about the Astros and Cowboys. The other teams never really cross my mind unless they are playing the Astros or Cowboys.

Yea

Um I hate any pro sports team that plays in the metroplex. I’m sorry but I never root for any Dallas team to win anything. I do not even see them as Texas. They are South Oklahoma, not Texas.

No way, no how.

Rangers fans =/= Astros fans. I’ve rooted for the National League in All-Star games and World Series, even if it’s those disgusting redbirds representing the NL.
