Sometimes a fans perspective isn't logical...
I remember singing Love Ya Blue when I was in kindergarten for a news station during a particularly winless season.
I remember a games being called "Black & Blue in the House of Pain." (Raiders vs Oilers in Astrodome)
I remember heartbreak to Denver and Buffalo.
I remember an owner taking the Oilers from us forever.
No worrying about a league that won't let quarterbacks run; but I still don't like the Titans and the Texans still aren't the Oilers.
I am growing fond of the Texans; but so far don't really care about the teams in their division.
But I hate Denver, Oakland, and Buffalo.
I remember going to the Astrodome when I was young and getting a small Astros pennant.
I remember being excited about a young team that included a couple guys with promise (Bagwell and company).
I remember being crushed by the Braves and San Diego.
I understand the DH has let us see gifted hitters a few years more than they otherwise could have given us (Martinez).
But if the National League Houston Astros are taken from us, I don't know what team I'll root for.
I've been cheering for the NL for so long... I just don't think I have it in me to cheer for the AL.
At least the Texans didn't make me face that choice.
I know one thing for certain: Bud has made me a fan of the Cardinals. At least till the end of this series.
