I haven't given my two cents in anything for awhile, so here you go.
Apparently, Wade was in talks with Cantu, but the talks ended today. Why Cantu? I don't understand, Cantu is a corner infielder. There's already enough competition for first, and I think everyone agrees that we want Chris Johnson as our third baseman. That would be nice to have him as an off-the-bench player, but Cantu made $6 million last year. That's a lot of cash for a bench player, especially on a team that is pinching pennies right now (thank you front office AND Carlos Lee). If Wade is going to put some depth and spend a few million bucks on any position, I would hope it is outfield.
Well, at least we got something out of this. Ed Wade is not dead, and the Astros are still active.
What do you guys think?
