Astros Own-swalt Phils in 16 Innings
Wow.
Just...wow.
That was a such a great win on so many levels. Who would have thought that Roy Oswalt would ground out to end the game...in the 16th inning? That same Roy Oswalt who was playing LEFT FIELD??
There is a lot of awesomeness to break down here, but I just got done working about 16 straight hours today and don't have many coherent thoughts left. I promise we'll break this thing down Wednesday morning, giving this epic game exactly the kind of scope it deserves.

The 2010 Astros
Are hell-bent on keeping Oswalt out of the playoffs no matter who he plays for.

A great game to win, a horrible game to lose
and its a good thing we won it too, because Roy Halladay has a 15-inning scoreless streak going. Good luck with that Astros’ hitters.
The game was the top story on 8am EST Sportscenter
Finally got some national recognition
did they spend 2 minutes on the game and then the other 5 minutes talking about Ryan Howard’s ejection

looks like Phillies are bitter over last night’s loss, and the one a day before (link courtesy of AC).
Initially I did think Howard’s toss was bad, but that was my view from behind Howard when he tossed his bat. Saw from a different angle this morning, and you can see Howard was barking at the third base ump as well as tossing his equipment.

This article is great!
Just the look in Barry’s eyes as he stared down Howard had “provocation” written all over it.
All of this can be solved by instant replay.
replay on check swings would be awesome!

Rob Dibble
Was pretty fired up about umpires tossing star athletes this morning. He also said fans don’t pay to see the umpires, and getting stars tossed in this recession is going to make fans not want to go to the ballpark.

seriously?
it was a 16 inning game – they got almost double their money’s worth. :P
it just adds more drama to the game and i’d be good money that every phillies fan wants to see howard jack a home run against the ’stros.
Howard should probably say thank you to Barry for getting tossed, he could of very well been 0-8.

Dibble makes some of the most ridiculous comments of any ex-jock turned broadcaster. Everyone likes to take shots at Joe Morgan, but he is more sensible than Dibble.
I don’t have many baseball options in the morning, it’s either Mike and Mike who take a commercial break every five minutes and don’t focus on baseball. Or MLBN on XM and Dibble is one of the co-hosts, he’s good for a few good laughs, but I try not to listen to him for too long for fear of losing brain cells.
