I mentioned this in one of the game threads the other day and after tonight's come from behind nine run win over a strong Cardinal team it may be time to discuss Baggy's impact.
We do have an entirely different looking 25 man, we have some young guns trying to prove their worth and a new sense of motivation. However, the difference in offensive production is very significant and it happened right around the time Jeff Bagwell took over. It's a small sample and there are several contributing factors, but this may be more than just a coincidence. What do you guys think?
Cat./Berry /Bagwell
BA: .238/.264
OBP: .296/.325
SLG: .347/.425
We have gone from last in the NL in On Base Percentage, Slugging Percentage & second to last in Batting Average during Sean Berry's time. With Bagwell The Astros are in the top nine in all categories, including 5th in Slugging.
