Yankees place Lance Berkman on 15 day DL
Yankees place Lance Berkman on 15 day DL. This must be the most frustrating month of Berkman's professional life. Word is he will return in September but that the Yankees did not want to play one man short while Lance healed. Here's the gist of the anouncement:
Lance Berkman has been placed on the disabled list because of his ankle injury.
“It hadn’t progressed quite as quickly as we wanted it to,” Joe Girardi said

Lance's response
"It’s obviously not ideal," Berkman said. "I didn’t come over here to sit on the bench and rot on the D.L."

Is it me, or is Berkman starting to resemble
a car that runs pretty good until it crosses a particular mileage threshold and then suddenly it becomes a money pit that won’t stay running? I like Lance, and he brought me loads of good times. I wish him well. But I also find myself quietly feeling like trading him was sort of a godsend.

Yanks can't seem to keep a health DH
Matsui last season, Nick Johnson of course this year and now Berkman
Any task BIG or small, Do it well or not at all
At least none of them have been indicted
