Felipe Paulino transferred to the 60-DL
No word as to why yet, but big news nonetheless. Also, Brett Wallace has been called up.

A good friend of mine used to say, "This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

And this, Brad Mills, is why you don’t run young flamethrowers in the injury nexus out for 120 pitches every five days.
I don’t really think those are connected. He did seem to have a desire to keep his total innings under control. And when I went back and looked at Paulino’s game by game pitch counts, it wasn’t as bad as I thought. Baseball-Ref shows his game by game pitch counts. Paulino only reached 120 once this season (124 on May 3d) and his next highest was 115. 6 of Paulino’s 10 starts were between 93 and 110.
Hopefully this part prudence and partly a desire to open up room on the 40 man roster.
I agree
No reason to run him out if there’s a lingering issue and hopefully this just facilitates that.

Looked at Paulino's game log
His last start was June 20th, so this might not mean much that we didn’t already know. I assume the DL would be retroactive until then so he’d only have to stay on the DL something like 20 more games, which is what we already expected when they said he was out for a month.
