Reds Inquiring On Oswalt
According to FOX Sports Midwest, the Reds are interested in Oswalt and have both the payroll flexibility and the prospects to make a deal.
This is contrary to other recent reports that the Reds were planning to not make any major moves at the deadline. But things can change quickly, and the Reds could use a true ace for the top of their rotation, so I wouldn't be surprised.
If the Astros have to trade within the division, Cincinnati seems a much better match than St. Louis, since they are generally considered to have the better farm system of the two clubs.

You might be able to get 2, but I doubt all 3….would be a nice haul though.

Getting Stubbs in a trade
Would that mean Richard Justice would talk about Drayton and the Drew Stubbs draft more often or less often? Discuss.
Also, I think it’s telling that I’m so weary of waiting for a trade to go down that I’ve started judging trades by how much hot air I think I think Justice and the Chron commenters are going to blow.
How about 3B Francisco, 1B Dorn, OF Duran, P LeCure and P Homer Bailey for Oswalt.
I have no idea if that would be fair value for either team. That deal wouldn’t give up one of the Reds marquee prospects, but a few talented young bats and some serviceable pitchers. I don’t know. I’m not too familiar with Cinci’s pitching prospects outside of Wood and Chapman.Just throwing something out there. I wouldn’t mind their young SS prospect Hamilton either.
The trouble with the Reds is that their best upper level position prospects (Alonso and Frazier) aren’t exactly having brilliant seasons. I still like them, but it’s worrying.
Just a look at the AAA roster
Cozart (SS), Alonso (1B), & Wood (SP) interest me.
Micah Owings could be a ML capable starter as a throw in.
