Setting Bogus Rumors To Rest: Oswalt Would Play In Any Location
According to Brian McTaggart, Roy Oswalt said today that he'd be willing to play in any part of the country if it meant playing for a contender.
I hate to be snarky, but so much for Ken Rosenthal's "sources". Another reminder to take everything with a grain of salt at this time of the year.
Now, about that option guarantee demand...

To be fair
Rosenthal could’ve been correct…. a week ago. Oswalt could be publically changing his mind since he sees his demands aren’t getting him anywhere.
I agree
I’d like to bring up business ethics at this point, but I can’t do so without picturing this scene:

But then again, maybe that scene ought to be shown to Roy and Ed for their (allegedly) unrealistic demands.

If he hasn’t already Roy needs to drop this 2012 rubbish.
He’ll end up being greedier than Tony Hayward over his severance package.
He dropped it a day or two back

I have to admit to some skepticism of Roy’s statement. When he says “we can work it out” and “we can figure out a way to restructure” the option, I’m not sure what he means. I’m not sure how you “restructure” an option. But it sound suspiciously like he wants some kind of additional compensation if the 2012 option isn’t guaranteed.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Wade asked him to use vague statements.

SBNation’s homepage is a giant banner reading:
MLBTradeRumors: Roy Oswalt Now Unlikely To Be Dealt Before Deadline
Alyson Footer was saying on Astros Live that she’s a little more than 50/50 on the likelihood that he is traded. I’ll take her word over SBNation, grateful as I am for their hosting of our site.
I don’t think the FO is in any hurry to move Roy, especially with him possibly tying Joe Niekro for most wins in franchise history Friday. It’s about getting butts in the seats and to trade away Roy before then would not help with attendance.
Don’t expect any move until after that start, and be prepared for all the repeated bad information.
