Farmstros Five- Week 10

Stay connected for news and updates

The Farmstros Five for the week of June 10-16, 2010:

The Top Performer:

Jordan Lyles, 19, RHP, Corpus Christi. Lyles had two peculiar outings this week. His start was halted by a lenghty rain delay after four innings. His second appearance came in relief after a one inning rehab start by Chris Sampson. The abnormalities didn't affect Lyles performance, as the Texas League All-Star pitched 11 scoreless innings. He allowed nine hits and struck out 13.

The Other Four:

Shane Wolf, 23, LHP, Lancaster. Wolf pitched seven innings of scoreless, two-hit baseball in his only start. He recorded four strikeouts.

Leandro Alayon, 18, RHP, DSL Astros. Alayon allowed one hit in six scoreless innings. He struck out six batters.

Lee Cruz, 27, OF, Lancaster. Cruz, a new addition to the organization, celebrated his 27th birthday (June 13) in style this week. In his first full week as the JetHawks regular outfielder, hwe was 13 for 28 with three doubles, two home runs and eight RBI.

Jack Shuck, 22, OF, Corpus Christi. Speaking of birthdays, Shuck can add this Farmstros Five to his birthday present stash (He turns 23 tomorrow). In his final week as a 22-year old, Shuck was 14 for 29 with one double, three RBI and one stolen base for the Hooks.
