It's amazing how quickly Ruben Amaro, Jr. went from being a great GM who built a champion, to someone who, in the words of Matthew Carruth, signed Howard, "to baseball’s newest worst contract." So rest easy, Ed Wade. Sure, you did nothing to build that Phillie ball club into the powerhouse it is...ya know, despite being the GM when Chase Utley, Cole Hamels and Howard himself were drafted. But hey- if nothing else, Amaro's getting lambasted tells us that nobody is too smart, or too qualified to get run out of town on a rail by the blogging community.
