Farmstros Five- Week One

Personally, I am glad the season has started so I can stop trying to figure out ways  to get myself on television and start doing what I enjoy doing most, Following the Astros of the Future.

THE FARMSTROS FIVE for the week of April 8-14, 2010:

THE TOP PERFORMER:

Koby Clemens, 23, 1B, Corpus Christi. Clemens apparently kept his bats warm over the off-season. He went 8 for 27 in the first week with two doubles, three home runs and eight RBI.

The Other Four:

J.D. Martinez, 22, OF, Lexington. Martinez went 13 for 30 with one double, one home run and five RBI.

Jason Bourgeois, 28, OF, Round Rock. Bourgeois was one of the last cuts during Spring Training, however that didn't affect his first week back at AAA. He went 11 for 30 with one double, three RBI and five stolen bases.

Arcenio Leon, 23, RHP, Lexington. Leon pitched seven scoreless innings over three relief appearances. He picked up a win and struck out seven.

Brandon Barnes, 23, OF, Lancaster. Barnes' week was not that spectacular, 6 for 23 with one double, two home runs and two RBI. However, he did get the organization's first home run of the season on Thursday. Further, he followed that round-tripper up with a walk-off home run Wednesday night allowing the JetHawks to end the week with their first win of the season.

I noticed that DeLome has moved his OPS up to almost .900.

What’s more impressive about Clemens start is that it includes an 0 for 5 effort in one of the games so far. He’s really turned into a good hitter, period.
