Stros offer Willy T. a Minor League Contract
The Astros have offered Willy Taveras a minor league contract.
No surprise here. GM Ed Wade expressed interest in such a transaction when Taveras was originally designated for assignment by Oakland Tuesday. The 28-year-old batted just .240/.275/.285 in 404 at-bats last season, but could be a decent backup outfielder due to his speed and defense. Source: Houston Chronicle Related: Astros
Another Michael Bourn on the bench (except willy t i alot worse)
I dont mind the move...rather have willy t then whoever our backups are now...(Sullivan? Michaels? i dunno who we have)

Ugh
I prefer every one of our AAA outfielders to Taveras. Every single one of them. Waste of a roster spot at Round Rock—and even worse if he makes the big club.
I love it.

If Willy T doesn’t make the ML roster out of spring training I don’t think he’ll go to AAA and I don’t think the FO would want him to be their either.

Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports that the Astros are not signing free agent outfielder Willy Taveras.
We’re not sure if this means the Astros are no longer interested or if he has decided to sign elsewhere, but either way, this all but closes the door on a return to Houston. Taveras, 28, was released by the Athletics earlier this month after being traded by the Reds. Though he batted just .240/.275/.285 last season, he’ll probably find a job as a fourth or fifth outfielder due to his speed and fine defense.

you should be lucky you didn't bring him in
some of the worst defense I’ve ever seen in CF came from the T-Virus
I once defended the managerial styles of Jerry Narron after a Reds loss in a bar after a long night of drinking. I wish I could say that I don't remember doing that.
