Bill Hall has been signed by the Astros for supposedly a one-year, $3 Million contract. Hall hit .247 last year with 18 HRs in just under 400 PA. This pretty much means that Kepp is going to get traded. The Yankees are known to be interested in acquiring Keppinger through a trade. Anyways, back to Hall. I think Hall is going to be great for the team, he now makes the middle of the infield very solid, and he can hit, which is a plus. He's a righty pull hitter, so that short porch in left will be to his liking. Something that I noticed is that he has only hit one HR at MMP, kind of weird considering he played in the NL Central for 7 years, but maybe that doesn't mean anything and I'm just over thinking.
I was getting close to thinking that he was not going to get signed, but this is a relief.
Where do you guys think he'll hit? Do you think he'll replace Keppinger in the No. 2 hole?
Something else that is kind of interesting that I found, Hall hit 21 of his 122 career home runs at a 3-2 count. Usually players just want to make contact at that point, but I like that he does well so late in the count still.
