Who are you rooting for?
With the Giants defeating Roy Oswalt and the Phillies today, the World Series is set. It will be the Texas Rangers vs. the San Francisco Giants. Whether you choose to hate the Rangers because of blind rage against all things Dallas, or you just don't like Tim Lincecum's hair, who are you rooting for and why? Personally I am rooting for the Giants because I do not want to see the Rangers win a World Series before the Astros do. Cowboys fans are still bragging about their damn titles 15 years ago, I don't need Rangers fans in my face too.

Silly Rangers
I too am rooting for the Giants. 1. Because Freddy Sanchez has an awesome batting stance. 2. I think it’s silly whenever the Rangers hit a home run, people run out onto the field waving Texas flags. 3 I hate the American League. 4. The Rangers have that stupid hotel in center field. 5. Nolan’s Ryan’s sausages I bought at Kroger taste like soybeans.
I could not agree more with Bonzo and BustaPozee.
Rooting for a Giants sweep.

I wouldn’t consider it “blind” at all. Very focused and informed, perhaps, but never blind.
So true
SOOOOOOO true
The Crawfishboxes
A good friend of mine used to say, "This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.

Putting aside Texas bias
I’m totally looking forward to the series this year. Seems like they’re two well matched teams but who play the game a different way. Both are in form. Starting pitching is very good. Strong bullpens.
I’ll root for the NL, so go Giants – but as a baseball fan, it’d be nice to have a classic World Series – 7 games and loads of tension and star performers.
Huh?
Cowboys fans are still bragging about their damn titles 15 years ago, I don’t need Rangers fans in my face too.
What Rangers fans? Before this year I could count on two hands the number of Rangers fans I’ve met in my lifetime.
Besides, the Rangers have been a horrible team for so many years, there’s something not quite right about rooting against them.
Think about this for a second: How many amazing memories and players have the Astros had in the history of their franchise? Ok, now do the same for the Rangers. Before this year, all they could brag about was signing Nolan Ryan (because the Astros thought Ryan’s career was pretty much over), Nolan Ryan beating up Robin Ventura, and signing A-Fraud to a rediculous contract That’s it. That’s their franchise history pre-2010.
So, to sum up: The Rangers haven’t had much (if anything) to cheer about in their entire existence, so I say let them enjoy their day in the sun. If they win a championship, so be it. I’ll even be happy for them if they do.
You don't understand
I am going to school with about 7 or 8 Dallas-Sports fans. These guys are annoying as SHIT when it comes to sports, and all they talk about is how the Texans have never won a Superbowl and how they have those rings from the 90s. I hope the Rangers get swept.
Split Seahawks/Texans fan. Don't like it? Don't care.

Before this past month, I had met approximately zero people IRL who copped to being Rangers fans. Suddenly every douche in Austin claims to be a “big fan, bro.”
Fortunately, that’s not universal. I’ve talked to several Dallas sports fans who are similarly contemptuous of the bandwagon.
