Former Rockets' point guard Matt Maloney faces Brian Moehler. Wait. Strike that, it's a different Maloney. Still watch the game. Please? Drayton needs the cash. Or better yet- go to the game! Yea! You can yell at Maloney for being not being the real Matt Maloney.

I think whoever runs into him when he is seeing the ball well is his biyatch.

He has really hit the Astros well this season.

Bud Norris has been shut down for rest of season.

Dave Clark says they don’t want to take any chances on putting more innings on Norris’ arm this season.

Prudent move.

Eh, not sure I agree

If they were worried about injury, they probably would have been fine skipping another start, or even just packing in another day or two of rest to make sure all the muscles got healed up. It’s the continued strain that causes problems, not an arbitrary number of innings.

Not that it’s a bad decision, I had just been hoping to see one more start from him.

Moehler walks the pitcher to load the bases. Not good.

3-0 Reds.

Moehler screwed himself by walking the pitcher.

6-0 after a 3 run double by Votto.

Moehler has to be kicking himself.

Walks (especially to the pitcher) will haunt.

6-1 Ugh

Terrible time to tune in.

These are the Reds. Nobody will confuse them with the Cardinals (except for the red unis).

As I type, Reds have pushed a runner to third with one out.

Ugh – Stop the Madness!

Moehler with another run allowed, 7-1 Reds….Dave Clark has to lift Moehler.

Now all the Astros need to do is sign him (he's a lefty)

Sep 25, 2009 – 21-year-old Cuban defector Aroldis Chapman, whose fastball has been clocked at 102 miles per hour, is now cleared to play big-league baseball in the States.

Quick, someone tell Drayton to get his checkbook out....

Somehow I get the feeling that McLane has a tough time getting the check book out of his pocket right now.

Yankees or Red Sox? We all know it will come to this.

Wilton Lopez is getting killed by the poor Astros’ infield defense.

Now the score is 10-1.

JD feels sorry for Lopez. Wonders what Lopez said or did to Astros infielders to deserve this.

Lidge pitching the 7th is Milwaukee.

by ol Pete on Sep 25, 2009 9:02 PM CDT reply actions   0 recs

Phillies' GM (Amaro) called the press conference....

to yank Lidge out of the closer spot. Interesting that the GM, rather than the manager (Manuel) made this decision. Manuel had been steadfastly standing behind Lidge as the closer.

Roy Oswalt's second opinion results

Astros pitcher Roy Oswalt has been advised to continue his core-strengthening exercises after undergoing an examination on his ailing back Thursday in Dallas.

Dr. Andrew Dossett at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas.concurred with the initial diagnosis provided by the Houston medical staff, and the right-hander is expected to be ready by Spring Training.

Last week in Houston, Dr. Mike McCann diagnosed Oswalt with a bulging disk and inflammation of a joint in his lower back.

Oswalt has been dealing with a bulging disk in his back since 2007. The disk is pushing against a nerve that descends down Oswalt’s left leg and has been causing hip pain and loss of feeling in his left leg. McCann recommended Oswalt begin a swimming regimen to strengthen his core, while cutting cut back on running.
