Mike Hampton to miss all of 2010 season after undergoing shoulder surgery
As Alyson Footer tweeted: Hampton had a full tear of his rotator cuff and some partial labral damage.
Good luck to Mike on his recovery, and hopefully he can resume his career somewhere in 2011 if that is his desire.

well
It’s a real shame for him, and I might sound like an asshole saying this, but MAN we dodged a bullet. You just know Eddie would love to have him back, we looooove that veteran leadership.

Hopefully this will convince them to hire a starter
Would you take a chance on a guy like Duchscherer, Harden? Or a durable unspectacular guy like Doug Davis or Jon Garland?

I think he's currently a type A free agent...
…but still recovering from surgery on his elbow. According to MLBTradeRumors he should be healthy for next season.
Probably another high risk kind of acquisition due to past injuries. Because of next year’s payroll, we’ll probably have to either take a chance on a guy like Sheets, or settle for somebody reliably less competent.

Not quite
He’s no longer a type anything. Draft compensation picks are lost after the June draft.
