Pirates in Astros

In a battle to see who waste all their outs the fastest!

Another pirate gets on via the walk.

second baserunner for the Pirates through 3.2 innings.

Game's first hit!

By Milledge. 2 on, 2 out for Pirates.

Oops!

Pearce hits a grounder though to the outfielder. Doumit (who was on second) is waved past third, so Milledge (who was on first) rounds second going to third. The throw comes in to home plate way too fast and Doumit has to stop and return to third. But oops! Milledge is already on his way!

And he does.

With no throw. Matsui 18/21 in steals this year.

Matsui using the wheels

Lance flies out to right and Matsui tags to third.

Now, Matsui is grabbing his hamstring, but play continues.

Pirates score a run....

and Berkman has to make a great play to tag McCutcheon and keep the runner at 3d in order to keep the Pirates from tying.

Another single as Pirates continue to bat.

Moehler appears to be coming unraveled.

Ha....

it looked like he took your advice. on a 3-2 count, he got a swing and a miss on a pitch which swerved wildly toward the batter.

Gervacio warming up as Mo strikes out Doumit for the last out..

Suppose if Mo’s spot comes back up, he’s lifted for a pinch hitter.

2 out

Vasquez batting and Cedeno steals 2nd (after getting a hit)
Vasquez is walked intentionally, so they can pitch to the pitcher, Oldendorf.

Lee flies out to center after a 3-0 count

(which turned into a 3-2 count)

The fly out was his first swing. At least he showed patience.

Meanwhile, Lance almost gets picked off first during the Tejada at bat.

Oldendorf, here’s a hint, just pitch to Tejada, he’ll GIDP.

I don't hate him

He just frustrates me. Especially after the whole Luke Scott fiasco a couple of years back.

by entropic soul on Sep 12, 2009 9:23 PM CDT up reply actions   0 recs

he's trying to top miggy for most outs by one player

Tejada leads him in doubles so he makes up for it by caught stealings
