Hawkins Fined
by EveryHoustonTeamRox! on Aug 5, 2009 5:16 PM CDT
ESPN - Astros reliever LaTroy Hawkins has been fined by Major League Baseball for comments made about an umpire after a July 27 game in Chicago.
"When a player, a coach or a manager criticizes an umpire, that speaks to the integrity of the game," vice president in charge of discipline Bob Watson told the Associated Press.
Hawkins has been on the disabled list since July 28 with shingles.
"I don't think the fine is appropriate," Hawkins said. "I won't tell you how much I was fined, but it wasn't appropriate. The punishment doesn't fit the crime."
Hawkins was thrown out of the game on July 27 for arguing balls and strikes.

Thats total BS...maybe if the umps were half decent he wouldnt have to argue...
Consistency is key but consistentlyt bad is NOT GOOD
