Zachary Levine brought up the point about Gervacio’s poor stats versus LHP. Gervacio’s splits at Round Rock here. Gervacio’s HR tendency comes against LHB, and is accomopanied by higher walks, fewer Ks, and higher batting average.

This would seem to indicate that Gervacio should NOT be used as a long reliever. He might be best used, though, when Wright or Byrdak comes in to get the LHB to start an inning and is replaced for a RHB.
