Astros' prospect Jason Castro hits three run home run at All Star Futures Game

On a national stage, Castro comes up huge.

Here's the discussion from SBN's minor league blog, MInorLeagueBall that went on while Castro hit his home run.

Against a lefty too

but not the greatest pitch. It was crushed though.

Remember to retire Fin's number, Mark.

Bad pitch

Hanging curve high in the zone. Still nice to see the power though, and against a lefty.

I consider that a positive game for Castro

I missed the game. That minor league thread had more discussion about Castro’s arm (He gunned down at least one if not two attempted steals )

I love this line: “Stanton’s upside is tremendous. Castro’s floor is probably higher though.”

Kinda true

Stanton could be a 40 HR guy in the majors, but he’s also got strikeout issues which makes that floor a little low.

Castro right now looks probably at worst, to be a mediocre ML catcher. His upside isn’t terrific, but he could get up to 15-20 homers with a solid average, maybe .280, .290 even.

Remember to retire Fin's number, Mark.

Hopefully

not the last homer he will hit in Busch Stadium.
