Per some rumbling rumors, Paulino my pitching a do or die outing tonight.  I'll be pulling for the young guy.

Coop must read the blog because Kepp gets to move up a lineup slot.  Still not ideal, but not terrible either.  Maybe will finally win a game?

Hey, it's Bagwell's birthday!

Pretty sure that means we have to win, right? (actually, from coning through the boxscores, it looks like the trend is lopsided losses to division opponents).

Bourn walks to lead off the game

Tejada prepares to rectify this mistake.

dammit!

Bourn steals second (bad throw). Now that double play is really unlikely. You’ll get another chance, I’m sure, Tejada

Nix makes a pretty good catch on a long foul ball

but Bourn scores easily, anyways.

and Hairston launches a homer into left.

Well, so much for that lead. Good pitch, too.

good pitch in the sense it was low out of the strike zone but bad pitch

in the at it cut the middle of the plate.

Reds announcers said Hairston has beome a good low ball hitter. He looked like he used a tennis ground stroke.

Kepp caught stealing

JD claims it was probably a H&R situation. Fuck you, Coop. Maysonet strikes out looking on a pitch that looked below the knees.

To clarify

Maysonet did not swing on the attempted steal. He struck out on the next pitch.

That was a weird DP.

Kepp has to wait for Maysonet to get to 2nd, who then gets Arroyo at 1st.

whoops

Lance can’t catch Q’s throw on a Taveras bunt. Kepp can’t get to it, Pence has to chase it to the corner. Taveras gets to third.

Lance is arguing Taveras was inside the line, but that doesn’t seem to be the case.
