Justice: clock is ticking on Cooper's time as manager
The Houston Chronicle's Richard Justice thinks the Astros may have to fire Cecil Cooper. By the way, wasn't it only two months ago that Richard Justice chastised the Astros because they hadn't extended Cooper's contract yet? Then he applauded the Astros when they did extend the contract.
Anyway, Justice makes some good points, and the blog is worth reading. Justice thinks Cooper called out his No. 1 pitcher after Tuesday's game (see my earlier article.."Some Random Reactions..."), and thinks that Cooper is losing respect among his players.

I'm sure it's coming
It just makes the extension even less sensical than it was to begin with.
The Crawfishboxes
A good friend of mine used to say, "This is a very simple game. You throw the ball, you catch the ball, you hit the ball. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains." Think about that for a while.
We wondered about Roy's hand during the game yesterday.
It would seem Roy, Pudge, Cooper and Robinson would all look intently for signs the hand hurt his pitching. As soon as the hand felt numb and he could not grip the ball, Roy should have called a conference. As soon as the pitches missed by a foot or more, everybody should be out there. Of course as a precautionary measure, get the bullpen ready.
The sixth inning was train wreck even though only one run scored.
